The Killing 06:44
I'm the master of lies, the herald of change, deciever of fools Ger out get out, just leave while you can Your time is at hand, my cards have been played You never stood a chance your fate was sealed When we stood at odds, my brother or not. Silently moving my, minions and pawns My bidding is done, whether they know it or not Industry fires & cogs, all working away They're bringing you close One touch and it's done The power was yours to lead us to rule So easily won with a smile Idealist down to a tee You forced me to be the villain in this Comic utopian fantasy I'll savour the taste of revenge The twist of my tongue, deluding the weak Rising up rebels to act Exchanging the blood to their hands One touch to pass on the tiniest germ Ensuring the task is complete No evidence traced back to me The power was yours to lead us to rule So easily won with a smile Idealist down to a tee You forced me to be the villain in this Comic utopian falacy No need to explain But at least your myth will carry on Stay your hand There must be, another way Just close your eyes and count the days when We worked so hard to find a common ground The wheels in motion now The outcome so clear My little secret that I'm holding so near This niggling feeling that's been growing in side This deep repentance will be so hard to hide But don't look back The damage is done Soon we'll be polarised by What will become And in the end This is where it begun The fight for compromise So far from the sun With mock suprise As I've just been told Time to say goodbye Goodbye my friend I wish there was, another path I'll close my eyes recount the good times Remember when all this was just a dream

Ares 06:26
Floating in a waking dream Counting up the stars, passing by I'm in dormant isolation, an embryonic seed Setting roots in far remote frontiers I'm slumbering down all the years Till a spark reawakens sleeping minds And we'll fall, on our knees, in the dust Of our world reborn But until that end, Reverie my friend And think of all we've left behind Lie Still My beating heart Till another day we mean to Thrive Against the odds we Mean to depart Leaving all our prejudice behind Behold our unity A crutch so casually tossed aside The outline of a shape appears, Future echoes of dissent, like an old friend He's followed us here, Breaking us down Still dragging our heels Mired But we didn't come here for war I'm afraid We came to embrace Life Closer now The heat of your touch A welcome embrace Awakens the sleepers Closer now To feel your breath Enveloping all and promising Life

Khalia 08:00
Khalia, the everlasting long and winding road Khalia, the everlasting long and winding road Khalia, living the great syntropic symphony of life I want you to find an escape from the pull of the tides (Get out and find an escape from the pull of the tides) - echo (let go of your fear and come to life) - echo I want you to find an escape from the will of the tribes To build our roads on the unclaimed land We're called to new frontiers Our life blood flows 'cross unending sands It's our chosen craft We're blazing trails to join the dots On this tapestry untamed A life on wheels, blowin' wild and free As we sail the red sea Khalia, the everlasting long and winding road Khalia, living the great syntropic symphony of life I want you to find an escape from the pull of the tides (Get out and find an escape from the pull of the tides) - echo (let go of your fear and come to life) - echo I want you to find an escape from the will of the tribes At the break of dawn, when the distant sun Rekindles our desire to be pioneers, the first of our kind Caravanserai Through mighty storms, and the frozen air We ply our worthy trade A perpetual task, but a noble life We live in interesting times Out of the mist A shape, emerged from the dark She whispers my name And points To the east A danger will come A flood, without an end You best look out boy And leave, Here But with this act The tides will change anew the world we know Will shift from red to blue And with that advice She turned, to depart A silent retreat To fade, Into the night Best not delay She says, with weary heart A strange silouette Bleeds, To dusk But don't despair The best is yet to come Lazuli terre Where once was nought but rust Look for the day When the skies yet change their tune I'll meet you then Under the hill we made our own
5.
I've never seen such pure destruction in my life They're fighting in the streets just round the bend So close the door and cut all ties with the outside Put on some tunes and have a drink or three This secret war just isn't helpful for our trade Who wants to shop around in ash and flames Business as usual is the mantra of the day Until some sucker deals with your remains Transmissions are sounding odd The wireless never lies They're selling us fiction while the Fire rains down from the sky The tower has fallen but they Say all's well on the line There's blood on the airwaves in between The message of all's fine Pull up a chair Ignore the rumbling and the smell I wasn't quite expecting refugees Between the bombs and all the Gunfire who can tell If they'll keep their charade up on TV Transmissions are sounding odd The wireless never lies They're selling us fiction while the Fire rains down from the sky The tower has fallen but they Say all's well on the line There's blood on the airwaves in Between the message of all's fine, Between the message of all's fine, Between the message of all's fine You think we can get out of here alive? We try to escape And creep through the fragments of our life A message of hope reduced to a tattered flag in the wind It all seems so quiet, now I think we were wrong to come outside Whatever seeking spirit bought us out through space Was overturned when they tried to put us in our place Time was, when this was all a dream Time was, but now there's things to fear Transmissions are failing now There's too much noise on the line Resisting their rule it's just a Vain defiance of the odds Soon we'll look back and see it was Just a matter of time There's blood on the airwaves Bleeding into what's left of our lives

We See Red 25:05
Last chance to pacify the restless coming storm The die is cast but this time no herald sees it fall No help from the pioneers, the heroes are long gone Our lonely little empire is about to come undone Can't change the world without power and strength Maybe I just need a friend I'll wear my mask and contrive what to say It's good to see you again Flash back to before the troubling days beset us all We thought that we could separate, the money from the law No use in what might have been, the past is set in stone We can only struggle on, beg and bargain for our home Can't change the world without power and strength Maybe I just need a friend I'll wear my mask and contrive what to say It's good to see you again Can't stop the chain once the match is lit Can't tip the balance to save the day Our greatest symphony incomplete We see red, we see red You better hide little gambler, it's out of sight but on their mind You can manipulate the masses, but now they've turned away from you Run and hide little gambler, before your exploits become clear There's a ghost behind your shadow And he's coming after you Rise and fall, Run the wall Rise and fall, Run the wall Another lost and lonely traveller He might be running from his past Another hero out of favour Another soul to fill the caravan Oh journey out with me tonight Under the stars that we once knew so well I see reflected in your eyes My sullen fear of being lost and cast aside Under the cover of the darkness We could get out of here alive Another step, another day, another, place We'll find our sanctuary's fine Oh journey out with me tonight We won't be seen we creep so carefully I see reflected in your eyes I wasn't quite who you signed up to stand beside We wouldn't be forgiven We wouldn't be forgiven We wouldn't be forgiven How could we be forgiven So our journey carries on into the night Reluctant friends and refugees compelled to do waht's right Beyond the pale I can see better things to come We once were kings of this untouched and barren land Benighted by our own success, they took it from our outstretched hand and now we are, outcasts and renegades undone Could I prevent this great catastrophe the queen of mars now spiralling, into a black and callous void The damage done, she couldn't hold us back for long We've come so far, where did we go wrong We are just dust, drift a long way from home We've come so far, where did we go wrong Another sacrifice into the unknown And through it all, we're still standing strong Running blind and the search carries on Don't look back, soon I'll be gone Remember me my Maya Your wish is done, but now I've seen what you've become Foul play and deception, as a means to stay in charge Tyrant or not, your utopia was wrought Founded on lies, it's the reason we're alive I guess you never really wanted to go on Another day laden by your own regret When I looked in your eyes Like the windows of an empty house, that was the last time Cast aside, by the storm Incomplete, my work undone Who will wear, the bloodied crown Now that' I've drifted away When all is done and the dust clears away His final gift will remain Our brave new world the dawn of a new age Maybe I'll see you again Can't stop the chain once the match is lit But perseverance will save the day Our greatest strength is within ourselves The red light of our union will prevail

On the brink of the first step between the emerald and the wine My senses overload at the passage of time As i stand dumbfound on the edge of something grand I feel the beckoning of the masters hand A distant star out of control Beyond the reach of fools Enthralled by the image of the old world left behind Nonplussed and glassy eyed We begin to settle down A lifetime of wonder, our frontier resounds Off in the distance in a worn and angry land I can't hear your bickering, I don't care to understand A distant star out of control again Beyond the reach of fools Enthralled by the image of the old world left behind

about

Red Mars is loosely based on stories from the novel of the same name by the hugely talented author Kim Stanley Robinson. In the story, the original colonists or ‘first hundred’ face a myriad of trials and tribulations ending in an attempted revolution against the chokehold of the corporations of Earth.
This album is a representation of this fictional age of discovery and strife.
